What is Love Basildon?

The Christian Churches of Basildon have been working together serving the community of Basildon since the new town was created -and even before!  The Love Basildon Initiative is a natural extension of this desire to serve.  All the Churches want to remind the people of our town that God Loves the people of Basildon very much.

In 2009 there are events and activities being offered by Church groups, seeking to demonstrate this – to truly ‘Love Basildon’ So Look out for Holiday clubs, activity classes, barbecues, and car washes.  The ‘Love Basildon Café’ with it’s puppets for children will again be a great highlight for many at the Basildon Festival.

As committed Christians, from every denomination, we believe Jesus Christ is as relevant now as he was 2000 years ago.  We aim to reach out to the Community to provide the services that people need for Faith, Leisure, Friendship and Life.  Every week The ‘Schools Team’ visits Primary & Secondary schools to carry out assemblies and classes- using puppetry, drama and story telling to communicate timeless stories from the Bible.  We also provide the team for the Bar’n’Bus youth project in the Town Square, Alpha Courses, Care into residential Homes and into the hospital, Mums and Toddlers groups and so many more activities that are advertised by the Churches across the town.  In everything we do, we seek to offer friendship- in times of sorrow and of joy; we reach out the hand of love to all.
